Zucchini Chironomid Fly Tying Tutorial

The Zucchini is a well-known BC chironomid pupa pattern developed by BC Flyguys. This is a popular variation that anglers like Brian Chan also fish. It’s meant to imitate emerging chironomids and works best fished suspended during a hatch. The strength of this fly is its slim profile and subtle contrast. It’s commonly tied with a copper brown or red rib, and bead colours can vary, with white, metallic brown, and black nickel all being solid choices.
