Little Limey Chironomid Fly Tying Tutorial

The Little Limey is a proven stillwater chironomid pattern that imitates a natural midge pupa, one of the most important food sources for rainbow trout. It’s especially effective during the ice-off period when trout key in on early season chironomid hatches.

With its slim profile and subtle lime rib, this fly closely matches the look of emerging pupae as gases build inside the body before they rise from the lakebed.

Fish it under an indicator just off the bottom for cruising rainbow trout during early-season stillwater fishing.
