New Age Coho Bugger Fly Tying Video

This is a modified version of Kelly Davison's Coho Bugger, specifically tailored for our nearby waters inhabited by migrating Coho and Cutthroat. Unlike the original, which utilizes a natural grizzly hackle, I've opted for palmer chenille to enhance the colour contrasts and add extra flash. I usually tie this in sizes 6 and 8, but you can adjust the size according to your preferences. I find that a slow, steady retrieve yields the best results for me, but don't hesitate to experiment with different retrieval speeds until the fish signal their preference on any given day.

Fly Recipe

Hook: Mustad R74AP Size 6

Thread: Uni Thread. 6/0, Red

Bead: OfishL 5/32” Brass Bead, Copper

Tail: Hedron Flashabou, Copper

Body: Hedron Flashabou, Copper

Hackle: Wapsi Small Palmer Chenille, Olive
