Spratley Boats

 

Sea-Run Fly & Tackle has been a proud dealer of Spratley Boats since they burst onto the market. These aluminum fly fishing prams are locally built in Port Kells and are, in our opinion, the best fly fishing boat on the market.

Construction

 

One of the attributes of these boats which makes them so good, is the ‘all -welded’ construction that keeps them 100% leak-free throughout their lifespan. The sides of the boat are 16 ¾” high, making them very safe with lots of freeboard. The 54” width also increases the stability and makes for an incredibly comfortable fishing platform. These boats are also Transport Canada Certified.

Spratley Boats are available in three lengths; 8’, 10’ and 12’. The 10’ and 12’ models are by far the most popular. We will also comment that the 12’ model typically goes onto a trailer as it is a very large 12’ boat.

Add-On Features

 

There are several add-on features available. The most popular is the wheel package. An aluminum tube is welded onto the bottom of the transom where wheels can be inserted, allowing for easy transport to the water.

 

Oar brackets have become a pretty standard add-on too. A plate is riveted to the outside of the boat and removable hooks are hung on the gunnel allowing you to store your oars on the outside of the boat.

 

Scotty flush mounts are another standard feature. Typically, we are putting them on the bow of the boat and on each corner of the transom. These allow for popular Scotty products such as anchor pullers, rod holders and drink holders to be used.

 

Spratley manufactures their own seat mounting option. The seat u-brackets simply slide over the bench seats and a Wise swivel seat is mounted on top. These brackets are great in the sense that you don’t have to drill any holes in the boat to mount seats and weight distribution can be really dialled in with the ability to easily move the seat from side to side.
