Grey Boy Chironomid Fly Tying Tutorial

The Grey Boy is another grey colour combination of chironomid that is very popular in our BC Stillwater fishery. The grey colour imitates a pupa that hasn’t “gassed up” to assist its ascent to the surface. Grey is a common colour for us to fish, even when throat samples are coming back with gassed up “shiny” chironomids. It's good to experiment to see what the fish want during your time on the water. If you don’t have this colour combination in your box yet, now is the time to start tying!
