Black & Silver Humongous Booby Fly Tying Tutorial

Today we’re tying the Black and Silver Humongous Booby, a pattern that came out of the UK stillwater scene. It gets its name from its oversized profile and large floating eyes, which give the fly a lot of movement. Fished on a fast-sinking line with short, quick strips, the line gets it down while the buoyant eyes keep it suspended above the weeds. Each strip makes the fly dart, often triggering aggressive takes from trout. Maintain a consistent strip without pausing. Stopping between strips increases the risk of deeply hooking fish.
