Skeena Standard Heavy Jig Steelhead Tube Fly Recipe

The Skeena Standard is a great fly for anyone looking to get their feet wet in tying tube flies and it is also a very effective fly to fish! The Skeena Standard has pretty much everything I look for in a Steelhead Fly; lots of movement flash incorporated in it to grab their attention, a great tapered profile and colour contrast.

Fish this like you would any other Steelhead fly swinging it down and across your favourite run, if there is a player in the pool it will be quick to let you know what it thinks of this fly with a big aggressive grab.

Tube: Pro Sportfisher Pro Tube Classic, Medium, Colour of your choice. 
Thread: Uni-Thread 6/0 Red 
Eye’s: Hairline Brass Eyes, Medium, Nickel
Body: Lagartun French Flat Braid, Variegated Blue 
Wing: Black Rabbit Strip
Collar 1: Natures Spirit Fish Hunter Marabou, Purple 
Collar 2: Kingfisher Blue Schlappen (the fluffy part at the base of the feather) 
Over Wing: Flashabou, Sky Blue
Head: Hareline STS Trilobal Dub Fl. Shell Pink
