How to Tie the Steelie Nightmare Fly Pattern

The Steelie Nightmare is a fly pattern I first came across on the TV show Sports Fishing BC over two decades ago, and it has been a staple in my steelhead box ever since. Its long, vibrant hot pink tail is simply irresistible to steelhead, while the contrasting black body enhances its visibility and profile in any water condition. Though not overly complicated to tie, this pattern is incredibly effective at catching fish.

You can tie this in all kinds of colour combinations but make sure you have a few of these in pink and black and I think you will agree, this fly is a steelhead's nightmare!
