This is a two-part powerpoint presentation covering everything about chironomids in stillwaters with the goal of making you a better chironomid angler and at the same time understanding why you have been successful.

Part one focuses on the chironomid life cycle with particular emphasis on the pupal stage from its initial emergence from the old larval case to the emergence of the adult phase.

Part two covers the essential fishing tactics used to effectively fish larval and pupal patterns and includes floating line (naked fishing), indicators and sinking lines from intermediate to type 7.  Other topics covered include selecting the right fly lines, tips on tackle setup, pattern selection, boat setup, the value of electronics and the proper use of a throat pump.

The course includes extensive use of video footage to illustrate the chironomid life cycle as well as live imaging that illustrates actual fish feeding on chironomids.

A question and answer session will follow each presentation.

Students will receive a PDF copy of the presentation slides after the sessions. Please note that a video replay will not be available.
