The Okuma Rockaway Surf Rod is designed for anglers who want a lightweight surf rod capable of making long, controlled casts from the beach. Built on responsive 24-ton carbon blanks, these rods load smoothly and recover quickly, helping you cast farther while maintaining excellent sensitivity when fishing bait or lures in the surf.

The 50/50 two-piece blank construction provides strength and durability without sacrificing performance. Okuma’s UFR-II (Ultimate Flex Reinforcement) tip technology adds extra power and lifting strength in the tip section while keeping the rod light and responsive. A tip-over-butt ferrule connection improves overall balance and maintains a smooth rod bend during casting and when fighting fish.

Outfitted with XQ series angled Sea Guide stainless steel frames and zirconium inserts, the Rockaway is fully compatible with both braided and monofilament lines. The tapered shrink tube grips provide a secure, non-slip grip even in wet conditions, while the rounded EVA butt cap gives you better leverage when making long surf casts.

Available in 8' and 12' models, ideal for anglers targeting surf species where distance, sensitivity, and casting efficiency matter most.
