I bought the Legacy jig and twitch rod in 2022 to target coho on Vancouver island. It performed amazingly for twitching jigs, and swinging spoons across the river. I also used it fishing from the rocks for coho, casting buzzbombs and spinnows. It works well for that too, but I don’t recommend casting much over an ounce of weight.
I’ve used it for shore fishing lingcod as well, and it works amazingly. I moved back to Kamloops, but went back to river fishing and found that this rod is perfect for bull trout as well, casting 3-4” paddle tail swim baits on 3/8-1/2 oz jigs and for casting spoons. I have caught many salmon on it, my largest being an 18lb chinook. That was a hard fight but this rod had the backbone to bring it in. After 3 years of owning the rod I still use it almost weekly, fishing for trout. It hasn’t cracked, even though it has taken many beatings on rocks, in saltwater, and freezing temperatures.
All in all, this is a good quality rod. Especially for the price. I have had Fenwick’s, Okuma’s, and Ugly stik’s for salmon rods and none of them have held up as well to my terrible treatment of fishing gear, as this rod has.
