Lagartun tubraid comes in 1/4” or 6.35mm and 1/8” or 3mm. The 1/8” is perfect for sliding over 3/32 aluminum, copper or brass tubes. Very popular with the Scandinavian tube crowd. It has a scale appearance to it that gives life to tubes as well as warm water patterns. You will need to be careful with your choice of thread for some of the more translucent colours such as pearl. Once wet the colour of the underbody may bleed through. This can lead to some very interesting effects! The 1/4” size is gaining popularity with the flats fishermen as it it can hold a larger profile and retain no water! A perfect example of this is the Lagartun GT fly designed by Dennis Gamboa. This pattern has proven to be very effective.
