We also have the staff that can provide the necessary information to ensure you have the right rod for the type of fly fishing you intend to do. We have spey rods and single-handed rods from several of the finest rod manufacturers in the world, including Sage, Loomis, St. Croix, Fenwick and Dragonfly. We also have the knowledge to match your rod up with the best in fly lines, such as Rio, Air Flo, and Scientific Anglers.

Drift Fishing, Spin Fishing and other Gear Rods

Whether river fishing for salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, lake fishing for trout or saltwater angling for salmon and bottomfish, we have a varied selection of gear rods to suit your needs. We have rods for float fishing, bottom bouncing, spincasting, trolling, cut plugging and jigging. Sea-Run Fly and Tackle has gear rods for British Columbia fishing from the finest manufacturers in the world including Sage, Loomis, Shimano, Fenwick, Trophy XL, and Berkley.

Rod Blanks

We stock a good selection of Sage Gear blanks, along with Sage Fly Rod blanks, St. Croix Rod blanks, and more.

Custom Rod-building

Sea-Run has its own in-house custom rod-building and repair shop, manned by our expert rod-builder Walter Koriath. You can work with Walter, or any other one of our Sea-Run Team, to custom design your next fishing rod with the components and finish of your dreams. Walter can lathe your handle with the finest cork available in a style and thickness to fit your hands just the way you like. Your rod can be wrapped in the thread colour and tipping of your choice and Walter will put on a finish as fine as the best factory rods in the world. If you wish, the rod will permanently carry your name in the “custom built for” slot.

We carry rod blanks from Sage, St. Croix, and Rainshadow. We have all the components, including reel seats, guides, rod winding threads, epoxies/glues, rod wrapping finishes, brushes, cork, tiptop adhesives, winding checks, and butt boxes from the world best suppliers of rod building components including Alps, Pacific Bay, Struble, Fuji, Flex Coat, and Gudebrod.

Rod Repairs

A major benefit of having a rod-building shop is our ability to carry out rod repairs in house. If a rod is repairable, we can get it back in your hands quickly, so you don’t miss any time out on the water due to equipment failure. If it is a simple repair such as a tip- top that needs replacing or a ceramic insert that needs replacing, we can often repair it while you wait. In addition, we do many of our reel repairs and servicing in house and can re-spool your line from bulk on our line winding machine. There are enough things that tend to keep us off the water so at Sea-Run we try not to let equipment problems be one of them.
